Baikal. The oldest and deepest fresh water lake in the world receives water from hundred of rivers but has only one outlet, the Angara River.
According to a legend, long time ago mighty father Baikal had one and only Daughter Angara. He nourished and protected her with love. One day, when Father Baikal had fallen asleep, Angara ran away to her young lover Yenisey. Baikal woke up with enormous tide of anger, He struck the grey-haired mountain and broke off a big rock and threw it violently to his daughter. The rock hit her, she stumbled and fell. Blue-eyed Angara cried and begged her Father for forgiveness. She was so thirsty and asked for just one drop of water. Father Baikal replied that from now on, she will get only his tears…
